BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA), a prescription medicine, is a purified protein that temporarily reduces muscle activity that causes wrinkle lines. It is FDA-approved to improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows in adults younger than 65 years of age. Off-label, it can be used for facial and neck rejuvenation. Although it is commonly used to treat the forehead lines, and the ones around the eyes, especially the “crow’s feet,” there are many other areas and circumstances for which BOTOX® may be used.
Our doctor is a member of Allergan’s BOTOX® Cosmetic Physician Network. BOTOX® Cosmetic is administered by our doctor as a simple, nonsurgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles that accentuate wrinkle lines (rhytids). It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes persistent lines to form.
