Michael Lum D.O.

Dr. Michael Lum graduated with honors from Loma Linda University. He received his medical degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 1989, and completed a general rotating internship at Lakeside Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He was chief resident at the University of Kansas School of Medicine Family Practice Residency, and Board Certified in Family Practice. Academic endeavors included undergraduate research at Loma Linda University Medical Center, and graduate biostatistical research at Loma Linda University School of Health.

Post-doctoral passions are keenly focused on aesthetic medical knowledge and the plethora of soft-tissue injectables, especially in the field of facial aesthetics. Over the past decade, Dr. Michael Lum has lectured on a variety of injectables and laser procedures at numerous CME-accredited professional events throughout the country, including his alma mater, the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He has mentored physicians and health care providers from well over a dozen countries and U.S. territories. He was recently recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for his contribution to ambulatory medical care and public health.

Dr. Lum is a Diplomate of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the California Academy of Family Physicians. Medical Aesthetic affiliations include the American Academy of Medical Esthetic Professionals, the International Association of Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine, and the American College of Compounding Physicians.

Product and procedure knowledge is dynamic and ongoing. Dr. Lum encourages peer-to-peer education including best practices from fundamental to advanced-level injectable techniques, up-to-date consensus guidelines, FDA-approved and off-label product indications, standards of care, and a strong emphasis on patient evaluation, education, oversight, and continuity of care.

Dr. Lum is a faculty trainer with the Esthetic Skin Institute. He lectures and trains licensed healthcare providers in the use of LASERS and Lights, Botulinum Toxin, and Soft Tissue Augmentation around the country. He supports the appropriate oversight in the management of patients, and the safe delivery of cosmetic medical procedures.
